What are some things I should have for training days?

For the Swim:

  • Swimsuit, Goggles, Large Towel, Water bottle

For an Indoor Ride (Beginner and Intermediate):

  • Bicycle or Triathlon shorts
  • Short-sleeve or tank top
  • Running or bike shoes (Shimano SPD cleats will work with the Spinning bikes)
  • Small towel
  • Water bottle

For an Indoor Trainer Ride (Advanced classes):

  • Your bike
  • Your bike trainer
  • Small towel
  • Water bottle
  • Any data recording devices you may have (Garmin watch, Polar HR monitor, etc.)

For the Outdoor Run:

  • Dry Running shoes (preferably different than what you wore on the bike)
  • Dry socks
  • Running tights or sweats
  • Depending on the temperature, multiple top layers
  • Wind-resistant jacket
  • Gloves
  • Hat

Additional Nutrition:

You may also want some additional nutrition.  Training days with the Oak Park Tri Team give you a great opportunity to try out different types and amounts of nutrition.  If you're unsure or have any questions, ask your coach about what might best work for you and your goals.
